Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit their manuscripts to this journal. All submissions will be reviewed by an editor to determine if they align with the journal's aims and scope. Submissions that meet these criteria will be sent for peer review to assess their suitability for publication.

Before submitting, authors must:

  • Obtain permission to publish any materials included in the manuscript (e.g., photos, documents, datasets).
  • Ensure that all listed authors have consented to be identified as such.
  • Secure ethical approval from the relevant ethics committee, if applicable, and in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

Please note: The editor may desk reject submissions that do not meet the journal’s quality standards. To avoid this:

  • Ensure your study design and research argument are clearly structured and well articulated.
  • Use a concise title.
  • Write an abstract that effectively summarizes the study and can stand on its own.

Following these guidelines increases the likelihood of a positive review process. Once your manuscript is ready, please follow the submission checklist below to complete your submission.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements:

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it under consideration by another journal.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets, and other materials provided with this submission.

Authors retain copyright of their articles published in MDA Journal.

Upon acceptance, authors are required to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) to cover the costs of Open Access publication.

All articles are published under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0), which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.

Authors grant MDA Journal the right of first publication and acknowledge that the journal is licensed under CC BY 4.0.

Authors are encouraged to share and disseminate their published work widely (e.g., in institutional repositories, personal websites, or academic networking platforms), as this can lead to productive exchanges and increased citation of their work.

Privacy Statement

When evaluating manuscripts, maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of authors is paramount. Upon submission, authors entrust editors with their scientific findings and creative work—assets that can significantly influence their reputation and career. Any disclosure of sensitive information during the review process may infringe upon the authors’ rights and jeopardize their professional standing.

Reviewers also have a right to confidentiality, which editors are obliged to uphold, except in cases involving suspected dishonesty or fraud. In all other circumstances, strict confidentiality must be maintained.

Editors are responsible for safeguarding all information related to submitted manuscripts. This includes—but is not limited to—the date of receipt, manuscript content, review status, reviewer comments, and editorial decisions. Such information should be disclosed only to the authors and reviewers directly involved in the evaluation process.

Reviewers are informed that manuscripts are confidential and remain the intellectual property of the authors. Both reviewers and editorial staff must respect the authors' rights by refraining from public discussions or the use of any ideas prior to publication. Reviewers should not make personal copies of manuscripts or share them without prior approval from the editor. After completing the review, reviewers are expected to return or securely dispose of all manuscript copies.

Consent from the reviewer, author, and editor is required before reviewer comments are made public or shared with third parties. This ensures the integrity of the review process and protects the interests of all parties involved.
